Where else can you find finer barbecue than the city immortalized by the poet Carl Sandburg as the Hog Butcher for the World"?
Chicago, the “Stormy, husky, brawling, City of the Big Shoulders,” is rich in diversity, passion and heritage—including a history as the capital of the meat packing industry, railroad hub, and key financial center for commodities trading and agricultural markets that dates all the way back to 1870.
Our Big Shoulders brand is deeply rooted in that history. Since the early 1930s our families have been dedicated to and worked in Chicago’s meat industry. Over time, the giant meat packers have relocated away from the Chicago Union Stock Yards, our production facilities and headquarters have remained in Chicago. Today, our company is one of the few true Chicago family-owned meat businesses. And our knowledge and love of the business runs as deep as our family ties to the city.
